The story
A recording studio is mostly dark, which suited me. I used a single focusing spot with a hard edge, a little haze to make the beam visible, and asked each artist to find the light themselves rather than placing them in it.
The red and teal frame came from a gel left on a lamp by the previous engineer. I liked it more than anything I had planned, so we kept it for the rest of the evening.
